PROCESS

The triple diamond methodology

The triple diamond methodology

This process is a very powerful approach. It aims to uncover valuable insights, generate innovatiove solutions and deliver outstanding experiences.
The process consists of three main stages: Discover, Define and Deliver.
The triple diamond methodology is, in my opinion a better method to use than the double diamond since it focuses more on the preoblem, and finding the and defining the right problem.

Discover phase

Discover phase

This phase is about exploration and thorougly understand the problem. We want to understand user's needs, desires, pain points, and aspirations. We can use various research methods, such as user interviews, surveys, observations, and we identify key stakeholders.

We set the context and we get an understanding of a higher level Objective and Key results.

In this phase we gather enough evidence to get an initial direction on what to do next. since we have defined the problem definition. No solutions comes out ouf this phase.

AREAS: Define objectives, conduct research, do stakeholder analysis, user reasearch and of course define the challenge that needs to be solved.

OUTCOME: Problem definition

Design phase

Design phase

We ideate to explore solutions and we validate them.
We could use the Infinity matrix to look at the ideas from "Effort from organisation" and "User value" to help us choose. We can make assumptions. From there we choose an idea to move on with.
We look back at our objectives and user pain points to see if the idea is "good".

We use Journey mapping, User flows, Task flows and finally prototyping, iterations, testing and refinement.
Multiple ideas can be brought further to test the hypothesis, them we peiotitize and select the mosst impactful ones.

Stakeholders and Dev are involved along all steps in the process.
In this phase we involve Dev for their expertise and to give us hints on what is doable or not.

OUTCOME: A validated solution

Deliver Phase

Deliver phase

We deliver the refined and validated solution.
This phase is a tight colab between Design and Dev team.

Specifications + wireframes and design is delivered to dev team and QA.
There might be final tweaks after QA is done.
We implement, (maybe live test) and Launch.
We measure impact.

We do a retro of the project.
